==DISCUSSION==

SNOW OVER SOUTHERN AND SOUTHWESTERN QUEBEC ON SATURDAY

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MAY BRING SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL AMOUNTS IN A

SWATH OF AREAS STRETCHING FROM THE TEMISCAMINGUE REGION TO THE

EASTERN TOWNSHIPS AND INCLUDING MONTREAL FROM FRIDAY EVENING TO

MIDDAY SATURDAY.

SNOW COULD CHANGE OVER TO ICE PELLETS AT TIMES, WHICH WOULD GIVE

REDUCED SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS. PRECIPITATION MAY ALSO FALL AS

FREEZING RAIN NEAR THE US BORDER ON SATURDAY.

THERE IS STILL UNCERTAINTY REGARDING THE TRACK OF THIS LOW. SNOWFALL

AMOUNTS OVER THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC WILL VARY DEPENDING ON THIS

TRACK.

MEANWHILE, WE ARE MONITORING A SECOND SYSTEM WHICH COULD BRING

FREEZING RAIN ON SUNDAY.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO MONITOR ALERTS AND FORECASTS ISSUED BY

ENVIRONMENT CANADA. TO REPORT SEVERE WEATHER, SEND AN EMAIL TO

QCSTORM(AT)EC.GC.CA OR POST REPORTS ON X USING (HASH)QCSTORM.
