FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.



LOCATIONS: WESTERN AND PARTS OF SOUTHWESTERN NEWFOUNDLAND. 



TOTAL FREEZING RAIN: 5 TO 10 MM (LASTING 4 TO 8 HOURS). 



TIME SPAN: 



CORNER BROOK AND DEER LAKE REGIONS: THIS EVENING. 

BAY ST. GEORGE AND PORT AUX BASQUES REGIONS: LATE THIS EVENING UNTIL 

OVERNIGHT. 



REMARKS: RAIN WILL TRANSITION TO FREEZING RAIN THROUGHOUT MUCH OF 

WESTERN NEWFOUNDLAND AS TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW ZERO THIS EVENING. 

FROM BAY ST. GEORGE SOUTHWARD, THE FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED TO BE 

MOSTLY CONFINED TO HIGHER ELEVATIONS. 



PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO ACCUMULATING SNOW LATER THIS EVENING 

FOR AREAS NORTH OF BAY ST. GEORGE. SOME AREAS COULD RECEIVE 5 TO 10 

CM OF SNOW BEFORE IT TAPERS OFF OVERNIGHT TONIGHT.



SURFACES SUCH AS HIGHWAYS, ROADS, WALKWAYS AND PARKING LOTS MAY 

BECOME ICY AND SLIPPERY. TAKE EXTRA CARE WHEN WALKING OR DRIVING IN 

AFFECTED AREAS. 



FREEZING RAIN WARNINGS ARE ISSUED WHEN RAIN FALLING IN SUB-ZERO 

TEMPERATURES CREATES ICE BUILD-UP AND ICY SURFACES.
